Popular Mexican TikTok star Cesar Gastelum, who boasted nearly 600,000 followers, was brutally shot and killed during a live-stream in Culiacán, Sinaloa. The tragic incident occurred while Gastelum was recording a video outside a fast-food restaurant with two friends, with all three wearing delivery-style orange jackets and bags. During the recording, two suspects arrived on a motorcycle, and one of them opened fire at close range, killing him instantly. In response, Sinaloa security authorities have launched a massive manhunt to apprehend the assailants, utilizing CCTV footage and other physical evidence. Meanwhile, Mexico’s Security Cabinet stated on X (formerly Twitter) that they are reviewing some of Gastelum’s social media posts, which allegedly referenced a faction of a criminal group, as the investigation continues.
