KARACHI: The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) has maintained its ban on the entry of police personnel into the City Courts following an alleged incident of violence and mistreatment by the SHO of Gulbahar Police Station against a former member of the KBA Managing Committee. According to the Bar Association, this restriction will remain in place until the Inspector General of Sindh offers a formal apology and takes decisive disciplinary action against the responsible officer. Strongly condemning the abuse of authority and harassment, the KBA emphasized that the dignity of lawyers, fundamental rights, and the rule of law are non-negotiable. Consequently, police access to the court premises was strictly limited due to the ongoing restrictions at the entry points, creating unusual security and administrative conditions within the court grounds.
