KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, officially inaugurated the newly introduced Geographic Information System (GIS) technology during his visit to the Sindh Master Plan Authority.
During the briefing, the Minister was given a live demonstration of the advanced system. The newly adopted technology will play a pivotal role in formulating smart city plans, facilitating the precise identification of plots across land management authorities in Sindh, and leveraging high-resolution Google imagery for urban planning.
Emphasizing the impact of the upgrade, Minister Shah stated that the integration of modern digital technology will significantly enhance transparency, operational speed, and effective monitoring within institutional affairs, while ensuring improved service delivery to the public. He also directed senior officials to fully leverage the digital system to maximize organizational efficiency.
The event additionally featured a balloting ceremony for the Hajj pilgrimage for the authority’s employees. The ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Waseem Shamshad, Senior Director Shakeel Siddiqui, Director General KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui, along with other high-ranking officials from the Sindh Master Plan Authority and the Karachi Development Authority (KDA).
