KARACHI: The investigation into the tragic murder of Dr. Akash has yielded major breakthroughs following the arrest of three suspects. Police sources reveal that the heist was orchestrated by a gang based in Quaidabad, led by the mastermind Aslam, also known as Baba. On the day of the incident, Aslam was actively directing operations from a chase vehicle, which also carried a female accomplice and other gang members tailing Dr. Akash’s car.
Immediately after the crime, the gang distributed the stolen money among themselves. One of the suspects received a share of 125,000 PKR, while another suspect, Ram Chand, was allocated 70,000 PKR, from which he immediately paid 30,000 PKR to his landlord. To secure the remaining plundered funds, they were sent to Ram Chand’s brother, Kishwar, in their native village using an online EasyPaisa shop.
This entire criminal alliance was forged behind bars, as Ram Chand and gang leader Aslam Baba first met in Landhi Jail back in 2021, where they formed their syndicate. Ram Chand, who currently resides as a tenant in Quaidabad, confessed to the police during interrogation that this highly active gang had already successfully carried out three other bank-exit robberies in this month alone.
