KARACHI: In a historic move to combat growing water theft, Karachi has established its first-ever specialized police station dedicated solely to water-related offenses. Inaugurated by Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab alongside Water Corporation CEO Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, the Water & Sewerage Corporation Police Station will operate under a strict “zero-tolerance” policy against the water mafia, illegal hydrants, and unauthorized connections. Moving forward, all water theft cases will be registered and processed under the Water Corporation Act, which grants the new facility full legal authority to streamline justice. This milestone initiative is expected to significantly accelerate investigations, ensuring transparent, swift, and indiscriminate legal action against offenders to protect public water resources and guarantee fair distribution across the city.
