The Government of Sindh has officially decided to transition its highly successful employment pilot project, “I Work for Sindh,” into a permanent, official government program. This landmark decision was reviewed and approved during a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. The meeting, attended by Information Secretary Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, DGPR Moiz Pirzada, and other key officials, focused on evaluating the platform’s performance, expanding its digital outreach, and enhancing media relations.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon highlighted that the digital platform has become a vital bridge between Sindh’s youth and potential employers, boasting impressive metrics since its inception. The portal has recorded over 4.8 million visits, with more than 113,000 job seekers registered alongside 670 employers. To date, over 20,800 total jobs have been posted, attracting more than 419,000 applications, while 11,100 vacancies remain actively open for applicants. In addition to job matchmaking, the platform offers automated CV building and a “Learn & Earn” feature, with plans to launch Live Career Counseling sessions by industry experts in the near future.
Beyond the employment portal, the Senior Minister underscored the role of the Information Department as a transparent bridge between the government and the public. He directed the implementation of modern digital communication strategies to enhance public awareness, while emphasizing the promotion of freedom of expression and fostering professional, respectful relations with media houses. Furthermore, the meeting concluded with instructions to ensure all media operations and administrative matters, including the department’s film and distribution projects, are managed transparently and in strict compliance with legal frameworks.
Strategic Directive: Minister Memon instructed all relevant departments to work collaboratively under a coordinated strategy to maximize the program’s reach, ensuring that the youth across the province can easily access sustainable livelihood opportunities.
