In a successful late-night operation, the Sindh Wildlife Department foiled an attempt to illegally transport 16 rare pelican birds from Dadu district to Karachi. Acting on a credible tip-off, wildlife officials intercepted and searched a suspicious loading truck, leading to the immediate recovery and custody of the rare birds. The suspects involved in the smuggling attempt were arrested on the spot. According to Mumtaz Soomro, Deputy Conservator of Sindh Wildlife, a formal case is being registered against the detainees under the Sindh Wildlife Protection Act. He further reiterated the department’s unwavering commitment to protecting wildlife and maintaining strict crackdowns on illegal hunting and trafficking across the province.
