KARACHI: In a major boost to public transport, the Sindh Policy Board has officially approved the procurement of 500 new Electric Vehicle (EV) buses.

The announcement was made by Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, during his address to the Sindh Assembly on Monday.

Key Highlights & New Routes:

The minister detailed the expansion of the eco-friendly transport network, revealing that new EV buses will operate across multiple newly designated routes in Karachi:

Route A: Ittehad Town, Banaras Colony, Liaquatabad, Jahangir Road, and Cantt Station. Route B: Orangi Ghaziabad, Iqbal Market, Valika, Nazimabad No. 2, Ayesha Manzil, and Zahoor Chowk. Additional Expansion: New routes have also been launched from New Karachi (Gulshan-e-Maymar).
