KARACHI: A District and Sessions Judge (South) granted permission to law enforcement authorities to present notorious drug trafficker Anmol, alias Pinky, before the Judicial Magistrate inside the Judicial Complex, citing severe security concerns.
The decision came after investigating officers formally requested the court to shift the venue of her appearance, arguing that presenting the high-profile suspect at the City Courts posed a significant security risk.
Media Restrictions Imposed
In a sudden move following the court’s order, journalists and media personnel were strictly barred from entering the Judicial Complex.
“We have received strict directives not to allow any journalists or media representatives inside the complex premises today,” a security official on duty confirmed to Karachi Fact.
Facilitators’ Jail Custody Challenged
In a parallel development, the police challenged the judicial custody of Anmol’s alleged facilitators before the District and Sessions Judge (South).
The police filed a review petition against the previous decision to send the facilitators to jail on judicial remand, requesting their custody instead.
The court accepted the police’s review petition and ordered the suspects to be produced before the Judicial Magistrate (South-XII) today. The facilitators, identified as Zeeshan-ur-Rehman and Sohail-ur-Rehman, are biological brothers and were previously ordered to be sent to jail on judicial custody.
