KARACHI: The Commissioner of Karachi has officially permitted the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to establish cattle markets at various locations across the city ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
According to the notification issued by the Commissioner’s office, KMC is authorized to set up these markets in seven districts of the city. While KMC had initially requested permission for 11 districts, the current approval covers key areas to facilitate citizens.
Approved Locations Include: North Karachi: Itwar Bazar Ground, Sector 11-D. Gulistan-e-Jauhar: KMC Ground near Safari Park (Blocks 5 and 6). Lyari: Bakra Piri. Korangi: Vacant plots adjacent to the Attock Petrol Pump.

The notification further directs the Deputy Commissioner offices, KMC, and respective Town Municipal Corporations (TMCs) to coordinate the establishment and management of these markets across the seven districts.
This move aims to organize the sale of sacrificial animals and provide designated spaces to prevent illegal roadside markets that often lead to traffic congestion in the metropolis.
