KARACHI: In a bid to ensure the timely completion of mega infrastructure projects, Sindh Chief Minister Seyed Murad Ali Shah paid a surprise visit to University Road at 6:00 AM today to inspect the ongoing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project and other developmental works. Accompanied by Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, the Chief Minister reviewed the pace and quality of construction. During the visit, officials from the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) provided a detailed briefing regarding the technical aspects, current progress, and the estimated timeline for the project’s completion.
The inspection was attended by Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi, the Managing Director of the Water Board, and other senior provincial officers. FWO authorities specifically briefed the CM on the quality standards being maintained during the construction of the BRT track and the overall speed of the work.
Infrastructure Priority: The Chief Minister emphasized that the restoration of Karachi’s major arteries is a top priority for the Sindh government. He stated that the provincial administration is committed to modernizing Karachi’s infrastructure to meet contemporary needs. According to the CM, the rehabilitation of key roads like University Road will significantly ease the commute for citizens. He further directed the relevant authorities to expedite the completion without compromising on quality while ensuring minimal disruption to daily traffic.
