Show-Cause Notice Issued to Former Controller of Exams Over Matric Exam Irregularities

KARACHI – Taking strict notice of the widespread mismanagement during the Matriculation examinations, the Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has initiated formal proceedings against the former Controller of Examinations regarding irregularities in exam center allocations and delays in the issuance of admit cards.

The former acting Controller of Examinations has been served a show-cause notice demanding a detailed explanation for the administrative failures within seven days. For the first time in the board’s history, exams had to be postponed due to incomplete arrangements, as the delayed issuance of admit cards became a critical issue causing significant distress to thousands of students. The notice specifically seeks clarification on the faulty identification and allocation of examination centers which led to logistical chaos.

The Sindh Government has taken a serious view of the situation. On April 13, the provincial authorities directed the Matric Board once again to submit a comprehensive report on why the admit cards were not issued on time and why the examination schedule was disrupted.

The inquiry aims to fix accountability for the serious negligence that forced the postponement of the annual examinations. The former official has been warned to provide a justification for these lapses or face further disciplinary action under provincial regulations.
