KARACHI – In a significant breakthrough, the Karachi Police have dismantled a dangerous criminal network involved in abducting children, addicting them to drugs, and forcing them into a life of crime. The operation, conducted in the Saudabad area, led to the safe recovery of an 11-year-old boy named Ayan and the arrest of two key suspects identified as Sahil and Fatima.
The Modus Operandi
According to police officials, the gang targeted innocent children, kidnapped them, and used physical violence and narcotics to keep them under control. Once the children became dependent on drugs, the suspects forced them to carry out street crimes, including mobile snatching and various thefts across the city.
Survivor’s Harrowing Account
Speaking to the media, young Ayan—a resident of Korangi—recounted his ordeal. He shared that he was kidnapped near a mosque after visiting Safari Park with his family. “I was taken to an unknown location where they tortured me and forced me to swallow sedative pills. They would then take me to different neighborhoods to snatch mobile phones and steal,” Ayan revealed.
Police Action and Investigation
During the raid, authorities recovered narcotics and stolen property from the suspects’ possession. Two suspects are currently in custody while raids are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate. Ayan is undergoing a medical examination and will be reunited with his parents following the completion of legal formalities. The police have vowed to uproot the entire network to ensure the safety of the city’s children.
