KARACHI: The city administration has intensified its campaign against the sale of adulterated milk, conducting raids across various districts and imposing significant fines on violators. During a meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hassan Naqvi, Deputy Commissioners reported that out of 43 milk samples tested across the city, 17 were found to be adulterated.
Operation Details and Fines The administration collected a total of Rs. 159,000 in fines from shopkeepers involved in selling contaminated milk. The breakdown of failed samples across the city includes 6 from District Keamari, 8 from District West, 2 from District Korangi, and 1 from District South.
Zero Tolerance Policy Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi emphasized that there would be no leniency for those compromising public health. He directed all Deputy Commissioners to continue the crackdown vigorously across all districts to ensure the supply of pure milk to citizens. “Strict legal action must be taken against elements involved in adulteration without any discrimination,” the Commissioner stated during the briefing.
