KARACHI: In response to the evolving regional situation, the Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA) has announced the temporary closure of specific sectors within the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions (FIR). According to a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued by the PAA, several air routes designated for commercial traffic will remain suspended starting from March 3 to March 31, 2026.
The closure will be in effect daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM throughout the specified dates. The authority stated that the decision was taken to ensure airspace security and maintain operational discipline in light of current regional developments. During these specified hours, commercial flights will not have access to the restricted corridors and must follow alternative routing provided by Air Traffic Control (ATC).
Travelers are advised to check with their respective airlines for potential schedule changes or delays during this period.
