KARACHI: Skywatchers across the globe, including Pakistan, are in for a treat as a spectacular total lunar eclipse is set to occur on March 3.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the astronomical event will begin at 1:44 PM (Pakistan Standard Time) and will reach its peak, or “greatest eclipse,” at 4:34 PM when the moon will be completely submerged in the Earth’s shadow. The entire process is expected to conclude by 7:23 PM.
While the eclipse starts during the daylight hours in Pakistan, citizens will be able to witness the concluding phases of the phenomenon in the evening as the moon rises. This stunning display will also be visible across Asia, Australia, North and South America, and parts of Europe, making it one of the most significant celestial events of the year.
Experts and astronomers have highlighted this as a remarkable opportunity for enthusiasts to observe the Earth’s shadow casting over the lunar surface, providing a unique visual experience for viewers worldwide.
