KARACHI: Authorities have placed the Karachi Central Jail on high alert, implementing extraordinary security measures in response to the prevailing security situation. A heavy contingent of Police and Rangers has been deployed around the facility to maintain a strict vigil, and all entry and exit points are being monitored closely to prevent any untoward incidents.
As part of the heightened security protocol, the main gate of the Central Jail has been closed and reinforced with heavy concrete blocks, while a temporary gate has been opened for essential movement. Furthermore, police officials have cleared the area of all parked vehicles to ensure a secure perimeter around the prison.
Official sources state that the security alert has been issued in the context of current Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions. Authorities added that while development work is also ongoing in the area, the security measures are being further strengthened, and the situation remains under constant surveillance.
