KARACHI – In a rare show of vigilance, a pack of stray dogs successfully foiled an attempted robbery at the Russian Market in Steel Town, protecting a local shopkeeper from armed suspects.
According to details, alleged robbers arrived at Bismillah General Store on two motorcycles. As they approached the shop, four stray dogs in the vicinity immediately became alert and began barking aggressively at the strangers. The dogs displayed a tactical defense by encircling the storefront, effectively creating a protective perimeter that prevented the armed men from entering the shop.
The suspects had reportedly insisted on opening the cash counter under the pretext of getting “change” for currency notes. However, the four-legged guardians remained steadfast. When the shopkeeper stepped outside, the dogs surrounded him as well to ensure his safety.
Intimidated by the persistent barking and the dogs’ refusal to back down, the armed suspects were forced to flee the scene on their motorcycles without completing the heist. The shopkeeper noted that the dogs likely sensed the suspects were not from the local area, which prompted their protective behavior.
