KARACHI: Unidentified armed men opened fire on a car showroom in New Karachi, Sector 11-D, after the owner reportedly refused to pay a hefty extortion demand of Rs 6 million. According to police officials, the attack was carried out by extortionists linked to organized gang warfare. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
Key Details of the Incident: The suspects had been demanding Rs 6 million from the showroom owner and had previously delivered an extortion slip (Parchi). The owner had already registered a formal complaint regarding the threats at the New Karachi Police Station. Preliminary investigations suggest the attackers are allegedly affiliated with the Samad Kathiawari group. The assailants arrived on two motorcycles, opened fire indiscriminately, and managed to flee the scene.
Current Status: The police have collected forensic evidence from the site and are currently analyzing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the culprits. Security has been heightened in the area as the investigation continues.
