KARACHI: In a major crackdown against the land mafia, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle, in collaboration with the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), has recovered two prime government properties in the Jamshed Quarters area. The operation was conducted following the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, with the recovered land valued at over Rs 3 billion.
The recovered area consists of two significant plots totaling over 6,000 square yards. The first property is an amenity plot belonging to the Sahwani Cooperative Housing Society, measuring 2,350 square yards. The second plot, measuring 4,000 square yards, was under the title of The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) Limited.
Investigation revealed that both properties were being held under illegal occupation based on fraudulent and tampered title documents. Following the successful recovery, the ETPB has officially taken over and sealed both sites to prevent further encroachment. The FIA has reiterated its commitment to retrieving state-owned land from illegal occupants across the city in compliance with judicial orders.
