CM Murad Orders Acceleration of BRT Red Line and K-IV Projects

KARACHI – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah visited NIPA Chowrangi on Tuesday evening to inspect the ongoing progress of the K-IV Augmentation Project and the Karachi Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Red Line. During the visit, the Chief Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the current pace of the K-IV Augmentation scheme. Emphasizing the project’s importance, he noted that the 2.7 km long pipeline is vital for improving the city’s water supply infrastructure and directed relevant authorities to ramp up construction activities immediately to meet deadlines.

The Chief Minister specifically instructed the administration and police to remove all hurdles causing traffic congestion around project sites to ease public mobility. He urged the police and local administration to work closely with the Water Board to ensure timely completion while also directing the Local Government Department to ensure regular cleaning and waste management across the city. CM Shah was accompanied by Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, and Chairman P&D Najam Shah. Before concluding the visit, the CM conducted a detailed review of the BRT Red Line track, reiterating that developmental delays affecting citizens’ daily lives will not be tolerated.
