KARACHI: The death toll from the horrific multi-vehicle collision near Kathore on the Super Highway (M-9 Motorway) has risen to 14, after another injured child passed away during treatment. According to rescue sources, 3-year-old Imran, who was undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital Karachi, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. The tragic accident involved a massive collision between an oil tanker, a passenger bus, a van, and a small car. Police officials confirmed that the driver of the oil tanker also perished in the crash.
The tragedy has struck a single family from the Mehsud tribe. Out of the 14 deceased, 13 belonged to the same family residing in Kotri, Hyderabad. They had traveled to Karachi’s Shah Latif Town to attend a wedding ceremony and the accident occurred while they were on their way back home after the celebrations.
Following the completion of legal formalities in Karachi, the bodies are being transported to Kotri for burial. Meanwhile, more than six individuals remain under medical care at various hospitals, with some reported to be in critical condition.
