KARACHI: The Sindh College Education Department has officially banned photography and video recording across all government girls’ colleges in the province. A formal notification has been issued to enforce this directive immediately.
According to the notification issued by the Director of Colleges, the decision stems from numerous complaints regarding the misuse of images and videos of female students and teachers on various social media platforms. The department highlighted that these unauthorized recordings have led to privacy concerns, prompting a strict policy to ensure a safe educational environment.
The new directive emphasizes a zero-tolerance policy toward unauthorized media coverage within college premises. The Director of Colleges stated that formal complaints were received by the College Education Department regarding the unethical use of content on social media.
Furthermore, college principals and staff members will be held directly responsible for any breaches of this protocol. The notification clarifies that strict disciplinary action will be initiated against any staff member found failing to implement this ban. This measure is aimed at protecting the dignity and privacy of both students and faculty members across the province.
