KARACHI – The Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police have apprehended a fraudulent individual posing as a high-ranking government official during a routine patrol in North Karachi. The suspect was found in possession of several forged service cards, appointment letters, and sensitive documents.
The Arrest According to SHO Khawaja Ajmer Nagri, Inspector Faiz-ul-Hassan, police personnel spotted a suspicious individual dressed in a police uniform near Rahmania Morr, Sector 3, North Karachi. Upon being intercepted, the suspect attempted to identify himself as a government officer. However, during a search of a shopping bag he was carrying, police recovered multiple fake service cards from various government departments, forged appointment letters, counterfeit driving licenses, and other official documents. The suspect has been identified as Ashraf Ali Qaimkhani, alias Salman.
Criminal Background & Fraud Tactics Initial investigations have revealed that the suspect is a habitual offender and a fugitive. He was previously declared an absconder by the court in a case (FIR No. 258/2022) registered at the Shershah Police Station. Sources indicate that Qaimkhani has defrauded dozens of citizens by promising them jobs in prestigious government institutions, most notably the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). He reportedly collected millions of rupees from innocent victims under the guise of processing their recruitment.
Legal Action A case has been registered against the suspect on behalf of the state. He has been handed over to the CIC Division New Karachi for further interrogation to uncover the full extent of his fraudulent network.
