KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) has announced a large-scale protest demonstration at the Karachi Press Club on February 8. Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro, Secretary General of JUI-F Sindh, will lead and address the demonstration to highlight government negligence following the tragic Gul Plaza fire, alleged rigging in the 2024 elections, and the ongoing “bad governance” of the Sindh administration.
The decision was finalized during a high-level joint meeting of the provincial executive committee, city amirs, and Jamiat Talaba-e-Islam (JTI) officials, presided over by Qari Muhammad Usman, Deputy Amir of JUI-F Sindh. The leadership expressed grave concern over the artificial crisis of electricity and gas, rising lawlessness, and the provincial government’s failure to address public safety.
The party vowed to continue their struggle against the “tragic negligence” surrounding the Gul Plaza fire incident and what they termed as the overall incompetence of the current provincial setup.
