KARACHI: In a major move to support the agricultural sector, the Sindh government has finalized the disbursement of urea fertilizer subsidies to verified farmers starting February 2, 2026. According to details, the provincial government has allocated over Rs. 12 billion for this initiative, aimed at alleviating the financial burden on wheat growers across the province.
The Sindh Agriculture Minister confirmed that verified wheat farmers are eligible to receive Rs. 8,000 per acre. A comprehensive list of 212,171 verified farmers has already been forwarded to the Bank of Sindh to ensure a smooth payment process. This initiative is being implemented following the special directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The Agriculture Department has officially instructed the release of funds, and verified farmers can collect their subsidy payments from the Bank of Sindh and other designated branches starting this Monday. This step is expected to significantly boost wheat production by providing direct financial relief to the farming community.
