Stray Dog Menace Continues in Karachi: Several Children Injured in Recent Attacks

KARACHI: The rising incidents of stray dog bites continue to plague the citizens of Karachi, with several children reportedly injured in the latest string of attacks in Ittehad Town.

Fear Grips Local Localities

According to details, residents of Qaimkhani Colony and Nawab Colony in the Ittehad Town area are living in constant fear due to a surge in the population of stray dogs. The presence of aggressive packs on streets has made it increasingly dangerous for residents, especially women and children, to step out of their homes.

Children Targeted

Reports indicate that within the past few days, multiple children were attacked and wounded by stray dogs in separate incidents. The injured minors were rushed to nearby public and private hospitals by their families to receive urgent medical treatment and anti-rabies vaccinations.

Demand for Urgent Action

Distressed residents have slammed the local administration for their inaction. They have formally appealed to the Union Council (UC) officials to immediately launch a dog-culling or vaccination campaign to ensure the safety of innocent children and prevent further casualties.

The issue of stray dogs remains a persistent challenge for the provincial and local governments in Karachi, with citizens frequently reporting a lack of effective measures to control the growing population of these animals.
