KARACHI: In a major boost to Pakistan’s industrial sector, approval has been granted for the establishment of the Karachi Industrial Park near Port Qasim, facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). Spanning 6,409 acres, it is set to become Pakistan’s largest industrial economic zone.
To further encourage industrial investment, the government has approved a new policy ensuring the provision of essential utilities to private economic zones. Additionally, a updated land lease policy has been sanctioned for public Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and industrial estates across Punjab.
These strategic initiatives aim to significantly reduce industrial operating costs, boost national exports, and generate thousands of new employment opportunities.
