Price of Friendship with Salman Khan? Shots Fired at Guru Randhawa’s Gym Following Bishnoi Gang Threats

MUMBAI: Indian pop singer Guru Randhawa has found himself in turbulent waters after unidentified gunmen opened fire at his fitness gym in Delhi. The gravity of the situation escalated rapidly following social media claims where the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly accepted responsibility for the attack, issuing a direct warning to the singer.

According to Indian media reports, the incident took place on June 10 at Guru Randhawa’s fitness franchise gym located in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area. Two masked motorcyclists arrived outside the establishment, opened multiple rounds of fire, and fled the scene.

Upon receiving the information, Delhi Police and security agencies rushed to the spot to gather forensic evidence and initiate a thorough probe. Officials confirmed that while the firing triggered widespread panic in the locality, fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.

The Social Media Warning

Shortly after the attack, a social media post surfaced from an individual named Anil Pandit, reportedly affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The post claimed responsibility for the gunfire, stating it was merely a “warning shot” for Guru Randhawa. The gang alleged that the singer has been growing close to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, warning that if these ties continue, more severe attacks will follow.

Law enforcement authorities have stated that they are meticulously examining both the firing incident and the circulating social media threats to bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly.

The Roots of the Bishnoi-Salman Vendetta

The enmity between Salman Khan and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang spans over two decades, rooted in the infamous 1998 Blackbuck poaching case. Salman Khan was accused of hunting two blackbucks during a film shoot in Rajasthan. Since the Bishnoi community considers the blackbuck a sacred animal, Lawrence Bishnoi has maintained a long-standing vendetta against the actor, issuing multiple death threats over the years.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been linked to several high-profile crimes in recent years. The syndicate is allegedly involved in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, the shooting outside Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence, an attack on singer Gippy Grewal’s home in Canada, and the high-profile assassination of politician Baba Siddique.
