KARACHI – A 5-year-old girl, identified as Afia, has gone missing under mysterious circumstances while visiting the Karachi Zoo with her family, sparking serious concerns over security measures at the public facility. The child, a resident of the Nawaneel area in Lyari, was visiting the zoo for an outing when her father, Ibrahim Baloch, reported that she suddenly disappeared while playing with other children.
Despite searching for over seven hours within the zoo premises and surrounding areas, the family has found no trace of her. While the incident has been reported to the local police and city administration, the search is facing significant hurdles. Ibrahim Baloch claimed that zoo management informed him that there are no functional CCTV cameras inside the facility to help track the child’s movement.
The distressed family has made an urgent appeal to the public and relevant authorities to assist in the search and ensure the safe recovery of the minor.
