KARACHI – In a heartbreaking incident in the Malir district, a 45-year-old security guard lost his life after being engulfed by flames while trying to keep warm during the cold night.
The accident occurred near Jogi Mor in Aurangzeb Town, situated within the jurisdiction of the Shah Latif Town police station, close to the Manzil Pump area.
Details of the Incident
According to Edhi Foundation officials and local police, the victim was identified as Muhammad Safar, son of Allah Wasayo. Safar was performing his duties as a security guard when the tragedy struck.
Reports indicate that due to the chilly weather, Safar had lit a small fire to warm his hands. However, the situation turned fatal when he was suddenly caught in the flames. Despite efforts, the intensity of the fire resulted in his immediate death at the scene.
Police Investigation
The Shah Latif Town police reached the spot shortly after the incident was reported. A spokesperson for the police confirmed that the body was shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
“The victim was a security guard who accidentally fell victim to the fire he had lit for warmth,” a police official stated. Authorities are currently completing further legal proceedings to rule out any foul play, though initial findings point toward a tragic accident.
