KARACHI – In a major crackdown against organized crime, the West Zone Police arrested a high-profile fugitive, Amir Bakhsh (alias Badshah), along with two accomplices following a fierce gun battle in the Pirabad area of Orangi Town.
The Encounter and Arrests According to SSP West, Tariq Elahi Mastoi, the police acted on a tip-off regarding the presence of the suspects. Upon seeing the police, the criminals opened fire to evade arrest, leading to a heavy exchange of gunshots. While three bullets struck the police mobile van, the officers managed to apprehend the main suspect and his associates in a wounded state. The arrested suspects have been identified as Amir Bakhsh alias Badshah (head of the narcotics racket), Najeebullah alias Jugnu, and Farooq.
Bounty and Criminal Record Amir Bakhsh was one of Karachi’s most-wanted drug kingpins, with the government having placed a PKR 1 million bounty on his head. SSP Mastoi revealed that Bakhsh is nominated in over 11 cases involving heinous crimes. He had previously fled Karachi to operate his narcotics network from outside the city while remaining in hiding.
Recoveries and Ongoing Operations The police recovered a significant cache of contraband and weapons from the scene, including one mini-rifle, two pistols with ammunition, large quantities of Ice (Crystal Meth) and Hashish worth millions of rupees, mobile phones, and a substantial amount of cash.
While three suspects were captured, four of their armed accomplices managed to escape under the cover of fire. Police have cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to track down the fleeing criminals. The injured suspects have been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, and further legal proceedings are underway.
