KARACHI: In a major move to enhance road safety and professional standards, the Sindh government has made pre-license driving training mandatory for all applicants across the province. The decision was finalized during the 50th Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Policy Board meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. Under the new policy, no candidate will be issued a driving license without completing formal training.
To implement this, new HTV (Heavy Transport Vehicle) and LTV (Light Transport Vehicle) driving schools will be established throughout Sindh. The government aims to train and license 100,000 drivers over the next five years. CM Murad Ali Shah emphasized that youth will receive world-class training to help them secure employment opportunities abroad.
During the session, the board also approved projects focused on eco-tourism and forest conservation. Furthermore, the Chief Minister issued strict directives to accelerate work on the Marble City Karachi project, warning that no further delays would be tolerated.
