KARACHI: In a late-night inspection, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab visited several ongoing development sites across the city, issuing strict directives to accelerate the pace of work without compromising on quality. The Mayor reviewed the carpeting and infrastructure progress in the Old City Area, Jahangir Road, and Hidayatullah Road. During the site briefings, he emphasized that the rehabilitation of the Old City Area is a high priority, as it will significantly improve traffic flow and ease the daily commute for thousands of citizens.

Regarding the Shahrah-e-Faisal beautification, the Mayor inspected the ongoing projects along the city’s main artery, instructing staff to ensure the city looks its best for the upcoming festivities. “I don’t need more briefings; I need practical results,” Mayor Wahab stated, making it clear that projects must be completed within the stipulated deadlines to address public grievances.

On the matter of quality control, he warned that payments to contractors would only be released after a thorough inspection, asserting that there will be no compromise on the quality of work. The Mayor further assured that public funds are being spent transparently and that all details regarding the expenditure of these resources would be made accessible to the public.

Focusing on Jahangir Road, which serves as a vital link between major city thoroughfares, the Mayor directed that at least one track be opened for traffic before Eid-ul-Fitr to minimize public inconvenience during the holiday rush.
