KARACHI: In a significant move to preserve and promote the city’s rich historical and cultural legacy, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced the establishment of a museum and a dedicated heritage site at the ancient Chaukhandi Tombs.
The announcement was made by Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, during his visit to the historic site. Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor highlighted that Karachi is home to numerous historical landmarks that have unfortunately been neglected in the past.
“We are committed to restoring the true historical face of Karachi and showcasing our rich heritage on a global scale,” said Mayor Wahab.
The initiative aims to transform the Chaukhandi site into a primary cultural destination, ensuring that the intricate stone carvings and centuries-old history are preserved for future generations and international tourists alike.
