KARACHI: The provincial capital is experiencing a sudden shift in weather as gusty winds from Northeast Balochistan have started blowing across the city, bringing back a touch of coolness to the atmosphere. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the current wind speed in Karachi has been recorded at 30 km/h. Forecasters predict that these winds could intensify, potentially reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h throughout the day.
Despite this brief windy spell, the PMD noted that the intense cold wave typically seen in winter had largely subsided since the beginning of February. Temperatures in the city have been on a gradual rise over the past week, and while these North-easterly winds have provided a temporary respite, the Meteorological Department maintains its forecast that temperatures are expected to rise further in the coming days as summer approaches.
