Karachi Wakes Up to Misty Skies: Visibility Plummets as Fog Grips the City

KARACHI: The city of lights saw a hazy start today as a thick blanket of fog reduced visibility to just 1 kilometer, prompting a cautious start for morning commuters. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports that while the skies will remain clear and the weather dry for the next 24 hours, citizens should expect more light fog during the early hours.

Humidity and Winds: Morning moisture levels hit a high of 90%, with humidity expected to swing between 50% and 95% throughout the day. Meanwhile, light to moderate breezes are predicted to blow at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h from various directions.

Temperature Trends: The city recorded a cool minimum of 18°C today, which is expected to hover between 18°C and 20°C tomorrow. Yesterday’s maximum reached 31.6°C, with today’s mercury likely to touch the 30°C to 32°C range. Drivers are advised to keep their headlights on and maintain a safe distance during low-visibility hours.
