KARACHI – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, has issued a stern warning to police officials, stating that non-performance will not be tolerated and officers failing to deliver results will be held accountable.
The directives were issued during a high-level meeting chaired by the IGP at the Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi to review the law and order situation and crime prevention strategies across the province. The meeting was attended by the Additional IG Karachi, Additional IGs of Special Branch, and other senior police leadership.
During the session, the AIG Operations provided a detailed briefing on the overall security situation, crime rates, and the measures taken to curb illegal activities. The review specifically covered heinous crimes, street crimes, organized crime, tribal feuds, and human rights violations. IGP Sindh also called for recommendations to make the investigation system more effective and requested a comparative analysis of performance across various districts and units.
Strict Accountability Measures
It was decided during the meeting that practical steps would be taken to make districts and units more transparent and answerable. The IGP remarked that the performance of officers will be judged solely on the basis of their actions against crime and the actual results achieved on the ground.
The meeting concluded with the decision that while high-performing officers will be encouraged and rewarded, those showing unsatisfactory performance will face strict disciplinary inquiries and will be required to explain their failure to maintain law and order.
