KARACHI: In a major crackdown against organized crime, the FIA Immigration department at Jinnah International Airport successfully intercepted a human trafficking attempt, exposing a network involved in the sexual exploitation of women abroad.
The Operation
Acting on intelligence, FIA officials offloaded three passengers identified as Sumaira, Nosheen Ishaq, and Jamshed Iqbal, who were attempting to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Based on the initial interrogation of these individuals, the authorities also apprehended two key facilitators named Muhammad Asim and Noman.
Modus Operandi
Investigations revealed that the passenger, Sumaira, was being trafficked under the guise of a visit visa to work for a group running massage centers and sexual exploitation rackets. The suspect Shumaila recruited her via Facebook and WhatsApp with a promise of 150,000 PKR monthly salary. The trafficking process was facilitated by Nosheen Ashfaq and her husband, Jamshed Iqbal, who are alleged to have trafficked multiple women to the UAE in the past. Muhammad Asim and Noman provided the necessary travel arrangements and transport logistics for the victims.
Evidence Recovered
A raid conducted at Shumaila’s flat in Azam Town, Karachi, led to the recovery of significant evidence. Authorities seized mobile phones containing incriminating WhatsApp chats, photos, and detailed records of financial transactions related to trafficking operations.
Legal Action
All arrested suspects have been handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi for further interrogation and legal proceedings. Authorities are currently working to trace other members of this organized network to dismantle the entire ring.
