KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has lashed out at MQM-P leaders Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Mustafa Kamal, accusing them of ignorance regarding the Constitution and questioning if their recent rhetoric represents the official policy of the federal government. Reacting to a press conference held by the MQM-P leaders, Memon stated that their remarks were a clear sign of their lack of knowledge and unfamiliarity with the country’s legal framework. He expressed regret that leaders of such stature had not seriously studied the Constitution before issuing “irresponsible” statements.
Questioning Federal Policy The Senior Minister pointed out that both Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Mustafa Kamal serve as federal ministers. He raised a critical question for the Prime Minister’s administration, asking whether this represents the official policy of the federal government. He demanded that the Federation explain why two of its ministers are actively engaged in propaganda and conspiracies against the Sindh government.
The Role of Governor House Memon further emphasized that the Governor House is a symbol of a constitutional office and should not be used as a hub for political confrontation or activities directed against the provincial government. He urged the federal government to immediately clarify the motives behind these recent developments to maintain political stability.
Call for Stability Highlighting the current state of the country, Memon warned that Pakistan is already grappling with severe political and economic challenges. He remarked that creating friction between the Federation and the provinces is “unwise” and stressed that at this critical juncture, such actions only harm national interests.
