KARACHI – Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, has asserted that the Federal Government shares the primary responsibility for ensuring an uninterrupted supply of gas and electricity to the citizens, questioning their performance in resolving the ongoing load-shedding crisis. He made these remarks during the formal inauguration of road construction and pavement projects in Sachal Goth, Gulzar-e-Hijri (District East).
Project Highlights: Sachal Goth Transformation
The Mayor highlighted that the infrastructure uplift, executed in collaboration with the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), is a significant step toward improving urban facilities. This project, completed at an approximate cost of Rs. 550 million, includes the construction of 47 streets using high-quality paver blocks and the installation of 72 modern LED streetlights. Furthermore, the scope of work involved the essential upgradation of the sewerage system and the installation of new water supply lines to facilitate the residents.
“The Year of Development”
Speaking to the media, Barrister Murtaza Wahab declared that this year would be a landmark year for Karachi’s infrastructure development. He also announced that on Sunday, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will inaugurate the Malir Bhains Colony Flyover, further easing the city’s traffic woes.
