KARACHI – The intense cold wave driven by icy winds from Balochistan continues to sweep across the city, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasting that the chilly weather will persist until the end of January. According to the latest advisory, Karachi is expected to remain cold and dry with partly cloudy skies over the next 24 hours.
Temperature Outlook
The minimum temperature was recorded at 11.5°C today and is expected to drop between 9°C and 11°C tomorrow. The maximum temperature is expected to hover between 20°C and 22°C today, following yesterday’s high of 21.8°C.
Wind and Humidity
The city is currently experiencing brisk northeasterly winds blowing at speeds of 20 to 40 km/h. These dry, cold winds are the primary reason for the increased “chill factor” felt by citizens. Humidity levels are expected to fluctuate between 20% and 50% over the next 24 hours. Visibility was recorded at 4 km this morning with humidity at 46%.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against the cold and dry winds, particularly during the early morning and late-night hours, as the current weather pattern shows no signs of significant warming before the month concludes.
