KARACHI: In a significant move to enhance inclusivity and employment opportunities, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the development of an AI-powered Special Employment Exchange Job Portal and a dedicated Grievance Redressal System for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
The decision was made during a high-level meeting at the CM House on Thursday. Highlighting the legal mandate, the CM emphasized that empowering PWDs through technology is a core pillar of the Sindh Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2018.
A Digital Bridge for Inclusivity Collaborating with Sukkur IBA University, the provincial government aims to create a multilingual platform (Sindhi, Urdu, and English) featuring AI-based job matching. “Our goal is to ensure that every individual’s unique talent is valued and that PWDs play an active role in social progress,” CM Murad Ali Shah stated.
The portal will serve as a direct link between the government and job seekers, ensuring transparency and merit-based recruitment across all provincial departments under the 5% mandatory employment quota.
Project Timeline The digital system will follow a strict timeline with the initial prototype expected by February 2026. This will be followed by the full activation of the Job Portal in May 2026 and the completion of the Grievance Redressal module by July 2026.
Strengthening Infrastructure in Kamber The Chief Minister also reviewed progress on the newly constructed Government Special Education and Rehabilitation Center in Kamber. Spread across 6,000 square feet, the facility will now be dedicated to children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
In partnership with the Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC), the center will focus on neurodivergence, providing specialized care for children facing physical and neurological challenges. “This center stands as a symbol of our collective commitment and hope,” the CM added.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Aga Wasif, Secretary DEPD Taha Ahmed Farooqui, VC Sukkur IBA Prof. Asif Ahmed Sheikh, and other senior officials.
