KARACHI: In a significant development for the provincial judiciary, 10 judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC) were sworn in as permanent members today.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Sindh High Court premises, where Chief Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput administered the oath to the newly confirmed judges.
The Confirmed Judges
The judges who took the oath of office include Justice Miran Muhammad Shah, Justice Tasneem Sultana, Justice Riazat Ali Sahar, Justice Muhammad Hassan Akbar, Justice Abdul Hameed Bhurgri, Justice Jan Ali Junejo, Justice Nisar Ahmed Bambhro, Justice Ali Haider Ada, Justice Muhammad Ali Qasim Ali Hadi, and Justice Muhammad Jaffer Raza.
The Ceremony
The event was attended by a distinguished gathering, including sitting SHC judges, the Additional Attorney General, the Advocate General of Sindh, and the Prosecutor General. A large number of lawyers and the family members of the newly sworn-in judges were also present to witness the occasion.
Extension for Additional Judges
While ten judges were confirmed, two others—Justice Khalid Hussain Shahani and Justice Faizul Hassan Shah—were not made permanent at this stage. Their tenures as additional judges have been extended for a further period of six months.
