KARACHI: The legal dispute between famous Tiktoker Rajab Butt and Karachi lawyers has been amicably resolved following successful negotiations between Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq and the Karachi Bar Association (KBA). Both parties have decided to withdraw all legal cases and applications filed against each other.
Joint Press Conference
During a joint press conference held at the Karachi City Court Bar office, Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq stated that detailed discussions were held regarding the motives behind the FIRs and the unfortunate incident that triggered the conflict.
“We have reviewed the situation thoroughly and decided to settle all issues gracefully, whether they concern Advocate Riaz Solangi or my client. No conditions were imposed by either side to reach this settlement,” said Barrister Ashfaq. He also lauded Amir Nawaz Warraich for playing a pivotal role in resolving the matter.
Stance of the Karachi Bar Association
KBA President Amir Nawaz Warraich addressed the media, stating that the incident had unfortunately damaged the reputation of the Karachi Bar.
- Institutional Integrity: He emphasized that the Bar respects every individual regardless of ethnicity, religion, or sect.
- Advice to Lawyers: Warraich urged lawyers to remain professional advocates in sensitive matters and avoid becoming personal parties to disputes.
- Zero Tolerance for Violence: He clarified that the settlement was reached without any pressure, adding, “We will never support violence. If anyone has an issue, they should approach the Bar instead of resorting to physical altercations.”
Background of the Conflict
The dispute dates back to December 29, 2025, when a heated argument broke out between Rajab Butt and advocates Riaz Solangi and Fateh at the City Court. The situation escalated into a physical brawl, leading Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq to register an FIR against the lawyers and file a complaint with the Sindh Bar Council. In response, lawyers had observed a strike and staged protests, which have now been called off following this reconciliation.
