KP Chief Minister to Have Full Freedom for Political Activities in Sindh, Says Sharjeel Memon

KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated on Tuesday that the World Bank’s decision to categorize the performance of the Sindh Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project (SFERP) as “Satisfactory” is a testament to the provincial government’s effective planning and execution.

Impact on Millions

In a formal statement, the minister highlighted that the project has successfully restored critical infrastructure across the province, benefiting over 7.2 million people. Notably, the beneficiaries include 3.4 million women, underscoring the project’s focus on inclusive recovery.

Transparency and Speed

Sharjeel Memon emphasized that despite limited resources, the Sindh government prioritized the rehabilitation of flood victims with a focus on transparency and rapid implementation.

“The World Bank’s acknowledgment of our progress confirms that the Government of Sindh is moving in the right direction,” Memon said. He added that the rehabilitation efforts have been instrumental in:

  • Restoring basic facilities in the hardest-hit areas.
  • Boosting socio-economic stability for displaced populations.
  • Rebuilding resilient infrastructure to withstand future disasters.

Commitment to Recovery

The Senior Minister reiterated that the Sindh government remains committed to ensuring that every flood-affected citizen is provided with the necessary support to rebuild their lives, viewing the World Bank’s endorsement as a motivation to accelerate ongoing development works.
