KARACHI: A distressing incident of alleged sexual assault involving a 17-year-old domestic worker has surfaced in the Gulshan-e-Maymar neighborhood of Karachi, leading to high-level police intervention and departmental action.
The Incident and Arrest According to police authorities, the teenage girl, who worked as domestic help, was allegedly assaulted by a local resident. Following the complaint, the police conducted a raid and apprehended the suspect, identified as Shahi Sardar. A formal case (FIR) has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
Departmental Action Against Delay In a significant move to ensure accountability, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Gulshan-e-Maymar Police Station has been suspended. Official Statements DIG West, Irfan Baloch, confirmed the arrest of Shahi Sardar and stated that the survivor has undergone a medical examination. “We are currently awaiting the final medical report to proceed with the legal technicalities,” Baloch added. He emphasized that the police are looking into all aspects of the case to ensure justice is served.
