KARACHI – The tortured body of a transgender person, who had been missing for several days, was recovered from a locked room in Baldia Town Sector 9-C on Tuesday.
The Discovery
The victim, identified as Muhammad Hayat (alias Liaquat), had been missing since Friday evening. According to the police, family members and colleagues had been searching for Hayat for days without success. The grim discovery was made when the door to Hayat’s private room was forcibly broken open, revealing the body inside.
Robbery and Murder
Preliminary investigations suggest a targeted crime. Police noted that the victim’s wallet, cash, mobile phone, and other valuables were missing from the room.
“The suspects allegedly murdered Hayat, locked the room from the outside to delay the discovery, and fled the scene,” a police official stated.
Legal Proceedings
The body has been handed over to the heirs after the completion of legal formalities and a post-mortem examination. The family is expected to formally lodge an FIR (First Information Report) today to initiate a criminal investigation.
