TEHRAN: Iranian authorities on Wednesday executed a man identified as Hamid Reza after he was convicted of espionage and collaborating with the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad. According to reports from Arab media, the execution follows a rigorous legal process and final confirmation of the sentence by Iran’s Supreme Court.
Hamid Reza was taken into custody on April 29, 2025, and was found guilty of intelligence cooperation with Mossad, which included the transfer of classified documents and sensitive national information. The execution was carried out immediately after all legal proceedings were finalized and the verdict was upheld by the highest judicial authority.
This execution takes place amidst decades of heightened friction between Tehran and Tel Aviv. Iran has frequently prosecuted individuals accused of facilitating Israeli operations or providing intelligence support within its borders.
The regional atmosphere remains volatile as tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate. Iranian officials have issued stern warnings, stating that any nation allowing its territory or airspace to be used for attacks against Iran will be viewed as a participant in an act of war.
